Imagine a school full of light and space for creativity
New classrooms, a spacious gymnasium and an innovative educational concept offer students and teachers a unique space for discovery, learning and enjoyment of everyday school life.
Montessori
The quality of life is largely influenced by the environment people surround themselves with, and this is doubly true for schools. The extension to the primary school is designed as a single storey extension set back from the footprint of the existing building. This concept offered us the opportunity to use the existing bay roofs and the new gymnasium building as residential terraces for both teaching and leisure activities for pupils and teachers. By designing the new interior spaces, we were able to ensure an increase in quality and comfort for pupils and staff.
Wood and glass as the main classroom materials help to make the classrooms light and cosy. The layout is sensitively adapted to the Montessori school model, allowing for connections and blending between the different classrooms. This promotes variability in teaching and an individual approach to each pupil. The classrooms have a large amount of storage along the walls and plenty of free space for variable teaching. The new gymnasium is like an embrace towards the garden
"The sensitive expansion of the existing Duhovka Primary School has brought the possibility of increasing the school's capacity by a second grade."
The new gym is like an embrace towards the garden and offers a unique connection between the indoor gym space and the adjacent outdoor playground. This concept allows for flexible use and graceful transitions, which is key for interactive learning. The modern design, natural lighting and flexible layout of the spaces create an environment where learning becomes a joy and discovery of new possibilities.
