The subtlety of the design with forward thinking gives rise to a terminal for high speed rail… The design creates a new, higher quality landscape that supports biodiversity and benefits the environment. The approach to the design of the surrounding villages is equally thorough. The design supports a dense and functional network of bio-corridors, paths, cycleways and bio-centres that connect all surrounding communities to each other, to nature and to the terminal. Our design concept is based on the search for a mutually beneficial synergy between transport infrastructure and nature.
The operation of the terminal is divided into two high-rise platforms. The main platform, at ground and car park level, has a spacious terminal hall, creating a bridge over the rail corridor, while at the same time creating the required road connection on its roof. The transparent design of the concourse creates a light, airy and transparent space that is perceived as a vibrant bustling plaza with shops, trees and seating. The side walls of the concourse are completely glazed, providing open views of arriving and departing trains.
