The Crystal is a unique building which perfectly fits into the urbanistically rich area of Vinohrady. On the south side of Vinohradská třída, Crystal is surrounded by traditional block apartment buildings with a unified height of it’s crown edge, while the north side contains a slightly sloped green plane of the Olšanský cemetery. The original street opened up into a small unorganized city square where the Crystal was an eye-catching height dominant, and which this project successfully utilizes and compliments with the addition of the geometric facade.

The combination of practicality and modern aesthetic in the shiny facade creates a unique building reminiscent of a crystal. The mass of the building is designed as an intermediate stage of height, fitting in harmoniously into it’s surroundings. The chessboard raster from pre-set panels gives the building a unified yet noticeable appearance, which attracts much attention. This innovative design not only dazzles with it’s aesthetic but also offers a flexible and inspirational work environment with natural ventilation, ideal for a modern office. The 14 floors above ground level contain 13 650 m2 of rentable space, with unforgettable views. The building’s attic is angled in accordance with the height and angles of the surrounding buildings, with the top edge cut off in a way that prevents the interference with daily light in the newly created courtyard.
