The winning design in the international two-round competition organized by the investment group Penta Real Estate, whose slogan is “creating better spaces.
Green Heart
Along Malešická and K Červenému dvoru streets, there is a unique location between the former freight station, which is one of Prague’s largest development areas, and the still developing residential development in Vackov.
The design strikes the perfect balance between functionality, human scale and contact with nature. By placing the apartment buildings around the perimeter of the site, a large space opens up in the middle, which is used to create a public park, bringing nature into the architecture and into the lives of future residents.
The park is surrounded by two large curved residential blocks, which together can accommodate 500 apartments, and is open to residents and locals from adjacent neighbourhoods. It functions as a shared outdoor space offering places for gathering and relaxation. A biodiverse environment with local plant or animal species, free of cars and noise, is a very valuable addition to this development area.
"Local identity for the individual and the community."
Emphasis on comfort and team collaboration is a key element of this centre. The work environment is designed to make employees feel comfortable and their work processes as efficient as possible Part of the efficient design is the interconnection with the surrounding buildings on the premises by means of the “Pier”, which serves as a residence, relaxation hall literally visually connecting the Jizera River and the sandstone cliffs on the other side.
