A historical building, originally a neo renaissance rentable house later rebuilt into a bank, was sensibly reconstructed into the current form of the modern hotel. The key architectural components were preserved, including the arched bank hall and the safe. The result is a unique space that connects history with the comforts of modern day.
A new life
Originally a neo renaissance rentable house, which was rebuilt during the 1920s into a bank, went through a senible reconstruction, which preserved it’s historical character. The two originally perpendicular house wings were previously attached to a banking hall and safe, currently the most valuable rooms of the building, which retained their elegance even after the reconstruction. The building façade is maximally preserved, cultivating it’s charming city aesthetic. The inside of the hotel hides many impressive rooms, such as the arched hall with a ribbed ceiling, and the original bank safe with it’s massive safe doors.
"It is important to preserve the ties to the past as a banking house and sensibly bridge the methods of use. "
The main building entrance leads through the original passage, which opens up into the former banking hall, where the reception and hotel lobby are located. In the underground floors, in the historical arched brick cellar and safe’s spaces, the hotel’s restaurant is placed. The 6 above ground floors then house 133 modern hotel rooms with ties to the building’s history.
