The Secret Garden

This project is located on the city’s lungs, but just a few minutes from the wild yet artistic valley Rokytky, with a view on Prosecká cliffs. The designed apartment building, inspired by the location’s character, represents a unique fusion of city life and nature’s harmony.

Nature in the city

The constructed block is directly affected by it’s orientation towards the city and the belt of greenery by the Rokytka river. An excellent transportational accessibility offers all future residents a privileged lifestyle in contact with nature. Our design concept focuses on this characteristic- bringing nature into architecture, creating a private garden in the apartment block’s center.

Nature seeps into the designed building in the form of greenery, reducing it’s visual mass when settling on the terraces. Thanks to the use of modular systems and repetitive architectural characteristics, a dynamic concept is created, with various shapes and sizes of openings. The block has two faces: the city character of street facades, and a unique landscape of various levels of the hidden garden.

"Fusion of the city and nature"

We designed a system which creates balance between functionality, human proportionality and contact with nature. The views are primarily oriented into the calm garden of the courtyard, with flashes of the surrounding greenery and the forested hills above the Vysočanské train station. It also allows slight views from the street or the park into the courtyard, the building revealing what is inside. The project utilizes the uniqueness of the land and the Prague district Vysočany to create a comfortable and attractive location for residence.
