Municipal Hospital Most is one of the important parts of health care for the catchment area of the Most district, it has a significant cross-regional reach and offers patients a specialized range of care. The general determines the target state of the area as a whole in 2047 and describes the gradual path to achieving the defined goal. The detail of the general is spatial, functional and urbanistic with a comprehensive area overview.

The pavilion system, as the historical arrangement of NEMMO, is a given basis and can only be solved to a certain extent by new construction and adjustments to the continuity of functions. Existing buildings must be used and it is not possible to replace them all with new construction. Up to now, the acutely arising problems have been solved more or less only by targeted interventions. For a long time, there was a lack of overall area overview. A decisive fact for the functioning of the entire system is the smooth transfer of the patient from the pre-hospital sphere to the hospital sphere, whether he comes alone or is brought. There is a lack of application of the current trend of humanizing hospitals. (external environment – absence of scattering areas, modified green areas, etc.), elements of which should not be missing in a modern hospital.

The goal of the general’s proposal is to optimize and streamline hospital care from the point of view of both the patient and the doctor with the help of tools consisting in the centralization of related departments and in ensuring the smoothness of the patient’s transition from the pre-hospital to the hospital sphere.

From the point of view of urban planning and building typology, the proposal works to the maximum extent possible with the existing pavilion development connected by a system of corridors. The newly located emergency room building and the LDN building also connect to these corridors, and that is on their lower floors. Other proposed buildings (parking garage, psychiatry department and residential buildings) are designed as stand-alone units without the need to connect with existing hospital buildings.

In addition to building objects, General also works with green areas. The realization of new parks with children’s playgrounds and scattering areas for patients to spend their free time in the fresh air is envisaged.
